Huh

It actually passed. A major health care overhaul that will actually make a difference has passed. I’d have liked for a few things to be done differently–such as a public option and CAREFUL, CAREFUL use of federal funds for abortion–but I didn’t even expect this much.

President Obama, members of Congress: thank you. I honestly didn’t think it would happen.

Yes, thank you again for helping out the Paul’s. You know the old saying: “Robbing Peter to pay Paul”? That is exactly what is happening in our country now only, it’s legal now to rob people as long as you do it through the federal Government.

Hey, girl, I want to keep a boner longer and I also want my girlfriend to have some huge, massive breasts…thanks to your folks up in Washington, YOU can now pay for that. Sweeet!!!!

I tried to post this via email at lunch, but apparently that’s just one other way WordPress is a poor substitute for LiveJournal, because it’s not here. But this is what I said:

First, if you’re going to come to my corner of the net, please use apostrophes appropriately. I’d ignore it normally, but it’s a particular problem of yours. Thank you.

Secondly, your argument is weak. Breast implants are not a medical necessity (except in the case of reconstructive surgery, obviously, and some would even debate that). I would argue in favor of covering erectile dysfunction medication as well, but I’d be more concerned about men that can’t get it up at all, rather than those who just want to keep it up longer. If it’s medically necessary, I don’t mind my tax dollars helping to pay for it. The fact that they are just doesn’t upset me.

But since you’re over here spewing the same tired lines you’ve been spewing since the dawn of time (or at least, that’s what it feels like), I feel free to respond with my own observations. In my (admittedly somewhat limited) experience, men who talk over everyone, practice selective listening, and pout when they don’t get their way tend to be compensating for other areas in which they are deficient, so I wouldn’t get too excited about free Viagra if I were you.
