I gotta say, there is no tired like low-thyroid-level tired. Anyway, I’m tired and bored and reading anything that pops into my head to stay awake, and I was just thinking, how freaking cool was Barry Goldwater? Now he was a Republican maverick.

Goldwater…. You are joking, right? Why do you think he is cool?
Because he stood up to all the “religious right” nonsense. Religion has no place in politics, and using religion to bully people into voting a certain way is despicable. And I’m not just a bitter ex-Christian, because I thought that as a Christian, too. I dislike most all conservative views, but I can respect them from people who think that’s genuinely the best way to run the country. People who are just wanting to make their beliefs legal mandates are disgusting, and Goldwater called them on it. (And if I sound bitchy, I really do apologize. I obviously don’t think you do any of these things.)
